During our first meeting, I dedicate extra time to get to know you and your concerns. This includes exploring your symptoms, discussing your medical history in detail, and asking a variety of questions.
If possible, it’s very helpful to bring along any previous medical reports, such as hearing tests, blood test results, CT scans, or other relevant documents—especially if you’re seeking a second opinion or evaluating the possibility of surgery.
After we’ve discussed your problems, we’ll move on to the examination.
Microscopy of the ears
Inspection of the oral cavity and throat
Palpation of the lymph nodes in the neck
Fibroendoscopy (or flexible endoscopy)
Endoscopy of the nasal cavities
Although this might sound intimidating, it’s not painful at all.
Modern cameras are incredibly thin and designed to minimize discomfort. In fact, the procedure can be quite fascinating—you can watch a live feed of your upper airway system on the screen, almost like a short movie of your anatomy! If you’re interested, I’m happy to explain what we’re observing during the process. You’ll also be able to communicate with me throughout the entire examination.
My aim is to ensure that your first appointment is thorough, informative, and as comfortable as possible.
In some cases, we may also perform an ultrasound to assess the lymph nodes, thyroid gland, salivary glands, or paranasal sinuses.

Living on an island requires careful planning for departure, especially when traveling by plane.
Conditions like ear problems or sinus infections may need extra caution, and sometimes taking the ferry or extending your stay may be necessary.
In some cases, additional imaging, such as CT scans, X-rays, or MRIs, may be necessary to refine the diagnosis. To facilitate this, we collaborate with several radiology centers in and around Palma, ensuring you can secure an appointment quickly and conveniently.
Your comfort and understanding are my top priorities, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
For treatments or procedures that require preparation or consideration—whether you need to discuss it with your family, plan time off work, or simply take a moment to reflect—I make sure to provide thorough explanations and guide you through every step of the process. My goal is to ensure that you feel fully informed and confident before making any decisions. If you choose to proceed, we will schedule a follow-up appointment for the procedure itself. At that time, we will also provide any necessary instructions, such as whether you need to fast beforehand or arrange for someone to accompany you home.
