Minor Procedures Under Local Anesthesia
Before we begin, I will provide you with a detailed explanation of the procedure and address any questions or concerns you might have. Once everything is clear, we will sign the consent form. You will then recline in a comfortable, adjustable treatment chair, ensuring you are at ease throughout the process.
Before Surgery:
No fasting: You do not need to fast before the procedure.
Accompaniment: In most cases, you can come alone. If you need someone to accompany you, I will let you know during our pre-surgery discussion.
Medications: If you are on anticoagulant medication, we will develop a plan in advance to safely manage or substitute it during the perioperative period.
Allergies: Please inform me of any known allergies to local anesthetics.
During Surgery:
You will remain fully conscious and able to communicate with me at all times. In certain cases, if necessary, we may use mild sedation in addition to the local anesthesia to enhance your comfort.
If the procedure involves areas like the face or neck, I understand concerns about scarring. I take pride in precise incisions and suturing techniques to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing results possible.
One of the fundamental principles of surgery is to remove only the necessary tissue while preserving as much healthy structure as possible.
After Surgery:
In most cases, you will be able to go home on your own and even drive yourself, provided no sedation was used.
Before you leave, we will schedule your follow-up appointment for examination and suture removal.
You will receive clear instructions on how to care for and treat the wound to ensure proper healing.
