Wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin
Do you feel younger and more energetic than you look? A Botox treatment relaxes and harmonizes your facial features, reducing wrinkles while maintaining natural expressions and a fresh appearance.
The Facts
Botulinum toxin is an active ingredient that specifically weakens facial muscles responsible for expression-related wrinkles. It is particularly effective in treating:
Vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows (frown lines)
Radial wrinkles at the sides of the eyes (crow’s feet)
Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead
Gummy smile
Mimic lines
Additionally, it can be used to treat wrinkles on the lower eyelids, cheeks, corners of the mouth, below the nose, and even on the neck.
Treatment duration
approx. 30 minutes
Durability
The success of the treatment lasts about 4 to 6 months.
Socially acceptable
Immediately or after a few hours
Rare complications
Headache, bruising, temporary disturbing weakening of mimic muscles, feeling of weakness for a few days (very rare)
Mode of action of botulinum toxin
Botox (botulinum toxin) treatment begins with a detailed facial analysis. In addition to wrinkles, we assess underlying facial expressions and overall facial proportions to ensure a natural appearance. Since all facial muscles are interconnected, weakening one area can influence other areas of the face. We take this into account during our in-depth analysis and discuss your goals and available options with you. Botox treatment is suitable for both young and older patients.
What should I consider before the procedure?
A laser treatment in a different area can be performed on the same day, but it must be done before the botulinum treatment.
At least 6 weeks before botulinum toxin treatment
No nasal surgery
At least 14 days before botulinum toxin treatment
No infections, colds, or illnesses
No antibiotics
No laser therapy in the same area
No vaccinations (including COVID-19 vaccination)
No facial or dental surgery
At least 2 days before botulinum toxin treatment
Do not shave the treated area
Treatment and Aftercare
Botulinum toxin is injected with a very fine needle. The injection causes minimal discomfort, so local anesthesia is usually unnecessary. Occasionally, a small bruise may develop at the injection site. The effects become noticeable within three to seven days, with the maximum result visible after about two weeks. As facial muscles relax, wrinkles are smoothed out.
The results typically last for four to six months, and treatments can be repeated as often as needed.
